From cabins around Payette Lake to custom mountain homes, HD Drywall delivers finishing, repair, and spray foam built to hold up to McCall winters.
Building in McCall is its own animal. Between the cabins around Payette Lake, the custom homes going up in the hills, and the short-term rentals that see hard use, the drywall has to hold up to mountain winters and a lot of coming and going. We have finished custom homes in McCall and across Idaho for more than 25 years, and a lot of our work here mixes drywall with wood and timber, where the clean edge is what shows.
In this climate, insulation does the heavy lifting, so we install spray foam insulation in the same homes we finish. If you are weighing your options, our breakdown of open-cell versus closed-cell foam explains which fits a mountain build, and you can see recent projects from around the area.
We provide full drywall services for McCall cabins, custom homes, and businesses, from new installation and remodels to repair and texture matching.
Mountain homes move. Heavy snow load, big temperature swings, and months of a house sitting empty all lead to cracks and popped screws over time. A professional finish stands up to that stress, and on a seasonal home, careful work means fixing a problem once instead of chasing the same crack every spring.
Good drywall also pairs with a well-sealed envelope to keep the cold out, supports fire resistance, and gives paint a smooth surface. When you are ready for a free estimate, we plan the trip, look at the space, and give you a clear price with the drive built in.
Whether you're building a custom home, residential development, or commercial property, our team is ready to deliver dependable drywall solutions that keep your project moving forward. Contact us today to discuss your new construction drywall needs and receive a free estimate.
Yes. We are based in the Treasure Valley but regularly work on custom homes and cabins in McCall. We build the drive into the estimate and plan the schedule so the crew comes up prepared to finish the job, not to make repeat trips.
It depends on the size and scope, and mountain jobs can run a little higher than valley work once travel and access are factored in. Small repairs are modest, while new cabins and full remodels are priced by square footage and finish level. You get a firm number after we see it.
Yes, and it is where a lot of cabin repairs go wrong. We match knockdown, orange peel, smooth, or hand-textured finishes to what is already there, including the spots where drywall meets wood, so the patch does not stand out.
If the walls are already open, that is the best and cheapest time to insulate. In McCall’s climate, sealing the envelope well before drywall goes up pays off every winter. We can do both so you are not coordinating two separate crews.
We plan around the season and the weather. For a home you only use part of the year, we work within your window so the space is finished and clean before you need it, and we keep you posted if mountain conditions shift the timeline.
We work in McCall and the surrounding communities, including Donnelly, Cascade, Lake Fork, and New Meadows. If you are nearby, ask when you call and we will let you know.
